Sri Sigandur Chowdeshwari is considered one of the holiest temple towns in Hinduism. The main attraction of the town is the temple of Sri Chowdeshwari Devi. Shri Kshetra is located on the banks of Sharavati River, Sigandur temple draws devotees from all over the state. Sigandur can be reached from Mangalore but majority of devotees arrive from Sagara/Shivamogga, using a launcher to cross Sharavati backwaters. Launcher ride adds to your experience as it provides scenic view of the backwaters and forest around it.

The Sigandur Chowdeshwari Temple is a unique temple and the powerful Goddess is self manifest. The Goddess Chowdeshwari at Sigandur temple is very powerful. If prayed honestly one can get a positive result without fail. In many cases problems are solved here without going to the courts of justice.

The Donations which are made under this section would be entitled for Income Tax Benefits claim under 80G of IT Rules.

Building Donation
  • Shri Kshetra offers accamadation to the devotees who wants to stay overnight or during the special days / Amavase / Poonam days at a very basic cost which is used for the maintenance only. The accommodation is basedon first come first bases only.  With the current two buildings the availability of rooms during the Amavase / Poonam / Special days would be a difficult.  In order to improve this temple committee is planning for one more building soon.
  • Devotees who are interested to contribute for the building of the rooms committee has provided below details.
  • One Full Room (Single Owner) – Rs. 2,00,000 (Two Lakhs only)
  • One Room Sharing basis – Rs. 1,00,000 (One Lakhs Only)
  • Support for the building construction – Rs. 50,000 (Fifty Thousand Only)
  • Note: Any donation paid to temple devotees will also get income tax benefits and free accomadation during their visit to Shri Kshetra (2 days month only)

Yakshagana Seva

Yakshagana has very old history in South Karnataka. It is believed that contributing to Yakshagana Seva is one of the auspicious seva’s of Sri Chowdeshwari Devi where you will get blessing of Sri Devi.

With the blessings of Sri Devi Sigandur is also running Yakshanaga team from 2002 and completes 180 to 200 Seva’s every year continuously.
There will be a tam of 42 to 45 with one administrator, one the date is decided the team will come to requested place and starts Yakshagana by 8 PM aftet during Ganesh Pooja and the play will run till 5 AM in the morning of next day.

The cost for one Yakshagana Seva now costing Rs. 40,000. More details you can contact admin office.

Shree Sigandoor Chowdamma Educational and Charitable Trust

Shrikshestra Dharmadarshi Shri Ramappa has decided to extend social services to the humanity and thought education is right way to start with.
So he started charitable trust by name”Shree Sigandoor Chowdamma Educational & Charitable Trust (R) with a clear mission of providing education across all caste, religion treating them all under one roof with common education which en lights our future generations.
Under this trust as per the govt rules trust can undertake any of the schools across India and provide financial or educational or manpower or any means of support or adopt the school for further developments to bring good education system to society.

Under the guidance of Shrikshestra Dharmadarshi, trust has taken few school under adaption where in trust is looking after the complete educational needs of the school and also offers stay fund to selected students to motivate them. Few of the trust adapted schools are

Goshala Donations

Temple trust has taken special interest in maintaining clear and hygiene for the cows. 

The cows are an integral part of the temples and their upkeep is one of the prime activities. In India, most of the temples have their own Goshala. The unadulterated milk supplied by these cows is used for the worship of the Shree Matha.
